Watkins & Eager has a long history of representing public utilities. We participated in some of the early cases construing the Public Utilities Act of 1956, which established the regulatory structure governing public utilities in the State of Mississippi. More recently, the firm has represented gas, electricity, telecommunications, water and sewer utilities before the Mississippi Public Service Commission and in their general business practices. Those representations have involved regulatory approval of mergers and acquisitions, tariff and rate proceedings, certificate proceedings, regulatory rule dockets, regulatory arbitration proceedings, financings, labor and employment matters, interconnection agreements, franchises, litigation, contracts, and corporate matters.
