William F. Ray was recognized as a 2016 top ten recipient of Mississippi Business Journal's Leadership in Law Award. MBJ has held the Leadership in Law awards ceremony since 2009. Mississippi judges and faculty from the state's two law schools evaluate the qualifications and accomplishments of nominees, and name the winners. A dinner announcing the 2016 Leadership in Law Class was held at the Old Capitol Inn on Tuesday evening, December 13, 2016.
