The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality named Watkins & Eager as the first "Environmental Star" in the enHance Program. The MDEQ enHance program is a voluntary initiative to recognize environmental leaders in Mississippi to strive to reduce wastes and inefficiencies from operations, resulting in environmental and economic benefits. Traditionally, membership in the enHance program has been geared toward regulated industries (primarily manufacturers), but Watkins & Eager has worked with MDEQ over the past year to create the new "Environmental Star" tier of the program for businesses and professional services firms, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions. In addition to being the pilot member of this new tier, Watkins & Eager will serve as a mentor to future applicants and inductees into the program.
