Watkins & Eager is pleased to announce that Corey D. Hinshaw is now a Member of the Firm.
Corey D. Hinshaw joined Watkins & Eager in 2004 upon graduating magna cum laude from The University of Mississippi School of Law. His primary practice areas include tort and general litigation, medical malpractice and health care litigation, toxic torts and mass torts, commercial litigation and family law. While in law school, Corey served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Mississippi Law Journal and was a member of the Moot Court Board. He is a 2001 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Political Science and American Studies.
Corey has been recognized as the Outstanding Young Lawyer by the Mississippi Bar and as a Mid-South Rising Star in General Litigation by Super Lawyers magazine, and he is a past recipient of the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers' Project Curtis E. Coker Access to Justice Award.
Actively involved in community and professional organizations, Corey currently serves as the District 13 Representative for the American Bar Association YLD and as a director for the Mississippi Center for Legal Services Corporation. Corey previously served on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division and as President of the Jackson Young Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Membership Committee for the ABA's Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section, the Defense Research Institute, the Capital Area Bar Association, the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit and the Mississippi Historical Society, and he is a past member of the Mississippi Bar's Leadership Forum class.
Corey is a native of Jones County, Mississippi. He is married to the former Joanna Graves, and they have two young sons, Graves and Harris. The Hinshaws are members of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church in Jackson.
