Watkins & Eager member Steven D. Orlansky and his wife, Beth, were the recipients of the 2014 Professionalism Award presented at the Capital Area Bar Association's An Evening Honoring the Judiciary. The Professionalism Award honors an attorney that has shown commitment to their practice, vigorous representation of clients and contributed significant time and resources to public service.
Steve Orlansky has been with Watkins & Eager since graduating from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1980. He has extensive experience in mass tort litigation, primarily involving pharmaceutical products, while maintaining a broader practice in commercial litigation, personal injury litigation and insurance coverage issues. Steve is recognized as a Best Lawyer in America, is a Mississippi Bar Foundation Fellow, a past recipient of the Mississippi Bar Pro Bono Publico Award and has served as Chairman of the Mississippi Equal Justice Foundation.
Beth Orlansky is graduate of Stanford University and the University of Tennessee Law School. Beth is the Advocacy Director for the Mississippi Center for Justice and also serves as its Child Care Advocate.
Both Steve and Beth have a strong commitment to their community and public service. They were charter members of Parents for Public Schools and have served on the boards of Stewpot Community Services, Henry S. Jacobs Camp and the Mississippi Equal Justice Foundation. Steve and Beth are also active members of Beth Israel Congregation.
William F. Goodman, Jr., Senior Member of Watkins & Eager, is a former recipient of the Professionalism Award.
