Watkins & Eager PLLC proudly announces that Emily Slay Walters and R. Benson Ford have become members of the firm effective January 1, 2023.
Emily was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 2015 and joined Watkins & Eager in 2017 in the firm’s Birmingham office. Her practice is devoted to civil litigation and includes medical malpractice defense, product liability defense, and general insurance defense. In 2018, Emily was named as one of Birmingham’s Rising Star Lawyers by the Birmingham Business Journal. She received her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Alabama in 2012, and her J.D., cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law in 2015.
Ben was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 2012. His practice areas include commercial lending, finance, real estate and mergers and acquisitions. Ben works extensively with lenders and commercial developers in the acquisition and sale of commercial real estate, construction projects and commercial lending. While in law school, he was a member of the Mississippi Law Journal and a co-founder of the Mississippi Sports Law Society. Ben received a B.S. degree, summa cum laude, in Business Administration from Mississippi State University in 2009. After studying abroad in 2010 at Downing College, Cambridge University, he received his J.D., magna cum laude, in 2012 from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
