Watkins & Eager is pleased to announce that Adria Johnson, Erin A. McManus and Amber Cain Varner have joined Watkins & Eager as associate attorneys in the firm’s Jackson office. “We are excited to welcome Adria, Erin and Amber to Watkins & Eager,” said Corey D. Hinshaw, Managing Member of Watkins & Eager. “We have high expectations for these three attorneys and know they will be valuable additions to our firm.”
Adria’s practice is focused primarily in the firm's general litigation practice area. She attended the University of Mississippi where in May 2018 she received a B.A., cum laude, in Psychology. While at the University of Mississippi, Adria was named a member of the 2018 Class of Who’s Who. In 2023, she received her J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from the Mississippi College School of Law. During law school, Adria was a member of the Mississippi College Law Review, Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, and a pupil in the Charles Clark Chapter of the American Inns of Court. Adria participated in the Mississippi College School of Law’s Guardian ad Litem clinic where she gained courtroom experience as a second and third year law student.
Erin was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 2021. She focuses her practice primarily in the areas of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights and litigation. Erin attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe where she received her B.A., cum laude, in English in 2018. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Mississippi College School of Law in 2021. During law school, Erin served as Chair of the MC Law Moot Court Board, participated in the 2021 Conrad Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition, was a member of the Championship Team in the 2021 Fifth Circuit Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition, and she participated in numerous other bankruptcy activities and trial competitions. Prior to joining the firm, Erin served as law clerk to the Honorable Selene D. Maddox, United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Mississippi.
Amber Cain Varner was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in September 2022 and practices primarily in the areas of commercial finance and lending and real estate. She attended the University of Mississippi, where in May of 2019, she received a B.A., magna cum laude, in Psychology. While at the University Mississippi, Amber was a part of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa and was named a member of the 2019 Class of Who’s Who. In May of 2022, she received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law. During law school, Amber served as Casenote and Comment editor of the Mississippi College Law Review and was the Public Relations Chair of the Moot Court Board.
