C. Joyce Hall was recently recognized as the Mississippi College School of Law 2024 Lawyer of the Year. The award is presented annually by the Mississippi College School of Law Alumni Association. Recipients of the award are honored for their professional accomplishments, contributions to the legal profession, service, leadership and recognition by peers and colleagues.
Joyce has practiced law at Watkins & Eager for over twenty-five years in multiple areas, including commercial transactions, public finance, corporate, and health care law. She was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1987 and the Louisiana State Bar Association in 1995. Joyce currently serves as Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee, Chair of the ABA’s Standing Committee on Professionalism and Chair of the Mississippi Bar’s Health Insurance Study Committee. She has also served the community this year through participation on the Executive Leadership Team for the Metro Jackson Heart Walk.
Joyce has been recognized in Chambers since 2015 for Corporate/Commercial Law and since 2019 for Public Finance Law. She has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2013 in the areas of Commercial Finance Law, Health Care Law, and Public Finance Law.
In 1994, Joyce was named Mississippi's Outstanding Young Lawyer and one of Mississippi's 50 Leading Businesswomen in 2009. In 2015, she received the Mississippi Business Journal’s Leadership in Law Award as a Top 10 recipient. In 2016, Joyce was elected Chair of the American Bar Association Heath Care Law Section. She frequently addresses organizations such as the Mississippi Orthopedic Society, Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians, the American Bar Association and the Mississippi Bar Health Law Section on health care law issues.
